Views from the top of the Space Needle in Seattle,….

Views from the top of the Space Needle in Seattle, WA that I took on a recent trip.  It is no surprise how cloudy it was.  It did later rain, which is no surprise for Seattle.  You can see the Key Arena where the old Seattle Supersonics used to play before moving to Oklahoma City.

Rain, Pain, and Going Insane…

What a great day it was! I always love it when it rains, don’t you? Every bad, and semi-bad driver takes their already low driving skills down a few extra levels to a place no one ever knew existed. These people, when it is sunny out will drive exactly ONE mph under the speed limit and kick on the cruise control; when it rains, they drop to 15 mph under the speed limit, each time providing the perfect block for those trying to make their strategic passes that get them to work 10 minutes faster than what their GPS or what MapQuest tells them it will take. We go for the glory and those drivers ruin it. And the rain? You can forget about making it to work. You might as well turn around and go back home.

These are the same people you find on crowded streets and in the mall. When you want to walk fast to your destination, these are the people walking at the perfect speed to block that perfect hole you thought you had wide open for making that perfect pass in front of that other slow person to get right to where you needed to shift to for making the perfect escape from the Alcatraz looking building, commonly referred to as a mall. I hate malls! Can we round up these people and put them on a different planet? And why are these same people always hogging the HOV lane that was put in place to speed up traffic? Well, enough on this topic, the rest of my day was pretty magnificent.

So what’s the pain? Well I am just a big baby after playing volleyball last night. I highly recommend not diving on a hard court without knee and elbow pads. Additionally, and this ties in with the “Going Insane” portion of my title, I was locked in a big box today for EIGHT hours. It is always fun in the work place when deadlines approach and everyone panics. What is the solution to calm the storm? Let’s lock ourselves in a small, dark room with no windows. That solves everything. I just dodged these impaired drivers on my way into work and now I get to spend my day in solitary confinement? Painfully insane!

I guess I will never live my professional dream of cruising to work with no traffic on crisp, clear, sunny days; and holding meetings at a tiki bar right on the beach. I can always dream, right? Well, I will wish for brighter days tomorrow. Happy Epiphany, Tevet 10, Three Kings Day, Armenian Christmas, and whatever you may be celebrating today! Ciao!
