Happy 75th Birthday to Louisville’s Hunter S. Thompson [Books] | Louisville.com.

I am not old enough to remember what it was like to experience Hunter in his prime, in his Rolling Stone days, or disrupting campaigns, or rolling with the Hell’s Angels.  But, I am old enough to have read several of his works, watched the film adaptations, followed his ESPN blog, and to have drank plenty of Flying Dog beers that took inspiration from the late writer.  He had a way of doing things that will be hard to ever replicate, from his writing style to his life style.  Everything was on his terms.

“THE EDGE, there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.”
― Hunter S. Thompson
